IVF full form is In Vitro Fertilization, which is a tricky bundle of procedures used to help with fertility problems of a couple unable to conceive a child. In-vitro means outside the human body.
What does the IVF procedure include?
The process of IVF includes the collection of mature eggs from ovaries and their fertilization with sperm in a lab. Afterward, the fertilized egg (embryo) or eggs (embryos) are put into the uterus. A complete cycle of IVF takes about three weeks. These steps are often split into different parts and the process sometimes gets stretched and takes longer. IVF in Nagpur has become accessible and affordable due to continuous efforts by various doctors

Why IVF is done?
In Vitro Fertilization or IVF is an option if any of the partners have the following conditions:
Fallopian tube damage or blockage – This type of blockage or damage makes the fertilization of egg difficult or for an embryo to reach the uterus.
Ovulation Disorders – the absenteeism or infrequency of ovulation result in less egg production making the fertilization process difficult.
Endometriosis – This occurs when a similar tissue to the lining of the uterus grows outside of the uterus affecting the functioning of the uterus, ovaries, and fallopian tubes.
Uterine fibroids – These are the non-cancerous tumors in the uterus. For women in their 30s and 40s, these are fairly common. They can interrupt the implantation of the fertilized egg.
Previous Tubal Sterilization or Removal – The type of sterilization in which the fallopian tubes are cut or blocked to permanently prevent pregnancy is called tubal ligation. IVF can be an alternative to tubal ligation reversal surgery.
Impaired Sperm Production or Function – Abnormal sperm size and shape, below-average sperm count, poor mobility of sperm can make fertilization of the egg difficult.
Unexplained Infertility – This is the type of infertility in which no cause has been found even after various evaluations but still the infertility is there.
A Genetic Disorder – If any of the partners is at the risk of passing down a genetic disorder then preimplantation genetic testing ( a procedure under IVF) is used. The Embryos which do not carry the identified problems are later transferred to the uterus. This helps in preventing the generational passing of any disorder.
Fertility Prevention for Cancer or other health condition – Cancer treatment such as radiation or chemotherapy may harm your fertility. Under such circumstances, you can get your eggs harvested from the ovaries and get them frozen for your later use. These eggs can later be used even while you might be infertile.
What is the cost of IVF in India?
